What’s New: Rock Creek Medical Society Update on Health Services

  ROCK CREEK COMMUNITY MEDICAL SOCIETY

The Rock Creek Community Medical Society and Interior Health would like to provide an update on the health services in Rock Creek. We are pleased to share that Interior Health has hired two nurse practitioners to join the Rock Creek Medical Ctr. Both are re-locating from the lower mainland and are very excited to return to the Kootenay region, a place they consider home.

Amanda Crockett will start her orientation in late October 2022 and begin seeing patients in early November.

Jennifer Crockett will start her orientation in early November 2022 and begin seeing patients mid November.

For several months, the KB Health Online Clinic has supported vulnerable clinic patients requiring ongoing care during the absence of a primary care provider in Rock Creek. When the nurse practitioners are settled, patients will be contacted directly and transitioned back to the Rock Creek Medical Ctr.

Over the past few months, additional nursing services have been provided to help support patients during the absence of a primary care provider in the community. In November, nursing services will resume to prior availability (1 day a week) with a brief transition from one nurse to another. We do not anticipate an interruption in services.

Social work services also continue at the site. However, there may be a temporary interruption in these services at the end of October due to staffing. We are committed to maintaining this service and will keep the community updated.

Thank you for your patience during these transitions.
