The RDKB issued 10 Temporary Access Permits to residents in the Mount Baldy area for August 12, 2021 to collect essential items left behind after they evacuated.

The RDKB will reassess the situation on Monday, August 16th.

  • According to the BC Wildfire Service:

o   The fire is now estimated to have burned 17,472 hectares.

o   Structural protection assessments were reviewed and updated in the Mount Baldy area on August 11th.

o   98 Mexican firefighters continue to work within high priority areas of the fire in the south and east areas.

  • 123 addresses remain on evacuation order and 34 addresses are on evacuation alert in Electoral Area E/West Boundary. A full list of addresses as well as maps of the evacuation order and alert areas in the RDKB are available at emergency.rdkb.com.
