What’s New: Okanagan Film Industry Expands and Locations are Needed

THE FAST GROWING OKANAGAN FILM INDUSTRY

CREATING A HIGH INTEREST SEARCH

FOR NEW LOCATIONS

Kelowna BC – August 23, 2022 – As the Okanagan Film Industry continues expanding exponentially there is a high interest in the region for the following types of locations and buildings.

Gord Wylie, Locations Officer for the Okanagan Film Commission, describes, “We are looking for desert ranchlands and large arid properties with landscape features including mountain views, rivers, lakes, and rock formations. As well, we are scouting for land with features such as derelict and tumble down buildings, houses, barns, and even old warehouses.”

The areas that the Film Commission is searching are from Penticton south to the US border, into the Kootenay Boundary region and as far west as the Princeton area.

Okanagan Film Commissioner, Jon Summerland states, “This region is now a film production center, and as such there is interest in these types of locations. If you have any questions about properties and/or buildings that might be suitable, as described above, for a film/tv location, please contact Gord at gwyliephoto@gmail.com
